THE ROAD TO HEAVEN IS NARROW, STRIVE TO ENTER THROUGH THE NARROW DOOR - SUNDAY REFLECTION

21 August, 2016

1st READING (Isaiah 66: 18- 21)
THEME: They shall bring all your brethren from all nations.
2nd READING (Hebrews 12: 5-7, 11-13)
THEME: The Lord disciplines him whom he loves.
GOSPEL (Luke 13: 22-30)
THEME: Men will come from east and west, and sit at table in the kingdom of God.

In today's 1st reading, God tells us, "I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory."
But I tell you that these promises are for the righteous because nothing impure will enter into the kingdom of God. The truth is that no one is righteous but make effort so that God will perfect you. God also tells us in the 2nd reading that he disciplines those he loves and that he uses suffering to prepare us for the heavenly banquet as was read in the gospel. So learn to bear your cross with joy and also ask for God's grace to see you through. HAVE A BLESSED WEEK FRIENDS.
