HOW TO BUILD AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST

Do you know it pays to build an intimate friendship with Jesus Christ? Certainly, it really pays. Now read this inspiring story:

A Minister passing through his church in the middle of the day decided to check by the altar to see who came to pray. Just then, the back door opened, and a man came down the aisle. The minister frowned as he saw the man hadn't shaved for a while. His shirt was torn and shabby, and his coat was worn and frayed. The man knelt down and bowed his head, then rose and walked away. In the days that followed at precisely noon, the preacher saw this chap. Each time he knelt just for a moment, a lunch pail in his lap. Well, the minister's suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,

Well, the minister's suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,
One day, the minister decided to stop and ask the man, “What are you doing here?” The old man said he was a factory worker and lunch was half an hour. Lunchtime was his prayer time, for finding strength and power. I stay only a moment because the factory's far away; as I kneel here talking to the Lord, this is kind of what I say:
“I just came by to tell you, Lord, how happy I have been, since we found each other’s friendship and you took away my sin. I don't know much of how to pray, but I think about you every day. So, Jesus, this is Jack, just checking in today.”
The minister feeling foolish, told Jack that it was fine. He told the man that he was welcome to pray there anytime. “It's time to go, and thanks,” Jack said as he hurried to the door. Then the minister knelt there at the altar, which he had never done before. His heart melted, warmed with love, as he met Jesus there. As the tears flowed down his cheeks, he repeated old Jack’s prayer: “I just came by to tell you, Lord, how happy I have been, since we found each other’s friendship and you took away my sin. I don't know much of how to pray, but I think about you every day. So, Jesus, this is Jack, just checking in today.”
Past noon one day, the minister noticed that old Jack hadn't come. As more days passed and still no sight of his friend Jack, he began to grow more worrisome. So the minister decided to visit his prayer mate at his work place. At the factory, the preacher asked about him, and learnt he was ill. The hospital staff was worried, but he'd given them a thrill. The week that Jack was with them, brought changes in the ward. His smiles and joy was contagious. His hobby was to make people happy. The head nurse couldn't understand why Jack could be so glad, even when no flowers, calls or cards came, not a visitor had visited him.
The minister stayed by his bed, He voiced the nurse's concern: No friends had come to show they cared. He had nowhere to turn. Looking surprised, old Jack spoke up and with a winsome smile, “The nurse is wrong, she couldn't know, he has been here all the while. Every day at noon he comes here, a dear friend of mine. You see, he sits right down and takes my hand, leans over and says to me:
“I just came by to tell you, Jack, how happy I have been, since we found this friendship, and I took away your sins. I think about you always and I love to hear you pray, and so Jack, this is Jesus, just checking in today.”
So this was how Jack built an intimate friendship with Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the best friend you can ever have in this world. You have everything to gain from your relationship with Jesus Christ and have nothing to lose.

GAINS OF BUILDING AN INTIMATE FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS

When you make Jesus Christ your bosom friend, you enjoy the following privileges:

1. HE TAKES AWAY YOUR SINS:

Our Lord Jesus Christ will take away your sins once you show interest of being his bosom friend. He washes you clean and helps stay away from sin.
Do you want Jesus to take away your sins?
Then make him your intimate friend today.

2. HE PROTECTS AND SHEILDS YOU IN TIMES OF TROUBLES:

Jesus Christ protects and shields his friends in times of troubles. He never allows any form of harm to touch them. Psalm 91 affirms this.
Verse 7 says, “A thousand may fall dead around you, ten thousand beside you, but you will not be harmed.”
In verses 14 to 16, God says,
“I will save those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as Lord. When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honour them. I will reward them with long life; I will save them.”
Why not make Jesus Christ your best friend and enjoy these benefits?

3. HE STAYS BY YOU IN TIMES OF HARDSHIP:

Jesus Christ is not like your earthly friends who go away in times of hardship He stays close by you to console and encourage you. Jesus Christ did not leave Jack in his sick bed, even when others left him. He also takes away the hardship at his own time.

4. HE MAKES YOU A CANDIDATE OF HEAVEN:

When you make Jesus Christ your closest friend, he also makes you his closest friend in heaven. He secures a place for you in his heavenly kingdom, so that he will be with you forever and ever.
Do you want to be a candidate of heaven?
Then make Jesus Christ your bosom friend while on earth.
I will now reveal to you how to build an intimate relationship with Jesus.

HOW TO BUILD AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

These are some of the things that helps get very close to Jesus Christ:

1. READ YOUR BIBLE AND PRAY EVERYDAY:

The holy bible is the word of God. And Jesus Christ is God himself. When you study God’s words, you learn the things he likes and the things he hates because for you to have him as your intimate friend, you must know and keep his commandments. So the bible helps to teach you God’s commandments and how to obey them.
Also it is only through prayer that you can talk to God. Praying everyday means interacting with Jesus Christ everyday. It is though prayers that you tell God your problems. Pray often; in season and out of season. Jack was able to build this close relationship with Jesus Christ because he prayed everyday.

2. SPEND SOME TIME JESUS CHRIST IN CHAPEL ALWAYS:

Jesus Christ is ever present in the chapel (especially where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed). Visit the chapel and spend some time there. Make sure that Jesus Christ is aware that you came by talking to him in prayer, as Jack did.
Make out at least a particular day of the week to visit Jesus Christ in the chapel. Do this every week and don’t cut this routine assignment. If you are serious with this, any day sickness keeps you from visiting the chapel, Jesus Christ himself will visit you in your sick bed just as he visited Jack.
This strategy works. There have been many testimonies from people who apply it.
Why not try it yourself?
Can you build a personal relationship with Jesus Christ today?
Can you note down Jack’s prayer and say it everyday?
